Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South Isaac Apaw Gyasi has revealed that issue of acquiring land has been the cause of his outfit’s inability to have a company under One District, One Factory policy.
He said the municipality could not secure vast land for the proposed factory that was expected to be established in the area.
Explaining on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem on Bryt fm on Monday, the MCE was worried the municipality was not able to get land for the project despite several attempts.
He attributed it to vast development of the municipality as population has increased drastically, thereby making acquisition of land very difficult.
“Do you think our abled MP and deputy Trades minister is happy about it? No, he is worried because how can he sign documents for other constituencies to have factories and leave his own people? Land was the problem” the MCE told Kwamina Sam Biney.
However, Mr. Apaw Gyasi was quick to add that the municipality has gotten its fair share of the national cake as Koforidua has seen major infrastructural development since President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia took office in 2017.
