Zimbabwe has implemented an immediate ban on police officers using mobile phones while on duty.
Officers must now surrender their phones to supervisors at their stations, with access limited to break times.
Although no official reason was given, the policy is believed to be aimed at reducing police corruption, especially after a recent incident where officers in Harare were caught accepting bribes on video.
This new policy reinforces previous orders, with strict enforcement required from station commanders and penalties for non-compliance.
The police force in Zimbabwe has a reputation for corruption, partly due to low pay and challenging work conditions.
