William Boadi, the CEO of Educate Africa Institute has asserted that government has not been responsible for the superior performance of private schools as compared to public schools.
The CEO was of the view that some criticisms which parents direct at teachers in public schools are misplaced because the real issue stems from government’s failure to provide essential tools and learning materials that enable effective teaching and learning.
He emphasized private schools are fully equipped to promote student success, as they operate with profit in mind concept.
He noted “Workers in government institutions often feel detached from their performance, believing it has little impact on their salary, which undermines motivation and accountability”.
Mr. William Boadi shared a personal experience where his outfit inspired students by providing small rewards for participation, fostering a positive classroom environment and strong relationships.
“Moreover, Colleges of Education are severely lacking in facilities, limiting students’ access to vital resources like computers and practical training. This deficiency severely hampers the quality of education future teachers receive” Mr. Boadi emphasized.
Ultimately, the CEO believes that without significant investment from the government in necessary resources, private schools will consistently leave public schools behind, and therefore, called for a change that prioritizes educational excellence and equips all institutions for higher educational success.
