Legal Aid Commission employees, feeling undervalued and excluded from the Law House’s opening, will strike starting November 25.
According to aggrieved staff, the Legal Aid Commission remains in its overcrowded and dilapidated office despite the Law House being commissioned five months ago.
The said the Commission needs urgent support to address operational challenges, including overcrowding and inadequate facilities, to prevent staff burnout.
The Commission is showing adaptability in the face of significant challenges, with offices accommodating more staff than originally designed.
Staff in an interview with the media are striking over concerns about client seating areas, citing torn furniture and bed bug infestations.
“The office would benefit from renovation or relocation to better serve clients, citing the need for more comfortable seating and private consultation areas”, leader of the staff, Lordina Adjeley Annan suggested.
