Former Chairman of the National Peace Council Professor Emmanuel Asante has called for calm as Ghana prepare for this year’s general elections on December 7.
He was of the view the country cannot afford to give away the peace Ghana has been known for within the sub region and Africa at large.
Reacting to recent unpalatable comments from a Kumasi based radio presenter and other politicians, the former chairman indicated the need to do a decorum and policy based campaign instead of personal attacks and insults.
He called on politicians and political spokespersons as well as activists to defray from such acts and rather be able to condone others views so as to have a eaceful elections.
Professor Emmanuel Asante also sent a message of caution to the youth not to allow themselves to be used for political violence but rather seek for better conditions of living for their future.
He made the assertions on Bryt fm Adekyee Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney on Tuesday, November 26.
