The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and deputy finance minister Stephen Amoah has explained why he pointed a gun at a young man in his constituency.
Explaining the incident to Kwabena Sam Biney on Bryt fm Adekyee Mu Nsem, the deputy Finance minister revealed that it was the young man who first pointed a gun at him when he was going round the constituency to campaign ahead of the December general elections.
“I was on a campaign journey in my constituency when this young man came from nowhere to point a gun at me, I had no other choice than also pull out my gun to also point at him. He then fled off immediately after seeing my gun” he stated..
Even though information making round indicate the young man’s suppose gun was a toy gun and not a live ammunition, Mr. Stephen Amoah was however of the view he had no chance of verifying it, hence his decision to also pull out his gun.
He stressed the matter had been reported to the police despite his earlier intention to ignore it.
Meanwhile, Richard Kumadoe, a security expert is calling for an urgent approach to end the influx of toy guns into the country, considering the current political tension in the country.
