The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a warning to the public about fraudulent recruitment activities involving fake appointment letters, prospectuses, and text messages circulating on social media.
In a statement, the GNFS clarified that these fraudulent communications are not from the service but are the work of scammers aiming to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
“We want to emphasize that these fraudulent messages are NOT coming from the GNFS but are the handiwork of fraudsters,” the statement read.
The GNFS is urging all applicants and the general public to remain vigilant and cautious.
“We strongly advise all applicants to stay alert and report any such fraudulent information or activities immediately to the GNFS or the Police for swift legal action,” the statement added.
The GNFS has also provided samples of the fake letters and text messages to help the public identify and avoid these scams.
The service is encouraging anyone who encounters suspicious recruitment activities to report them promptly to ensure that the fraudsters are brought to justice.
This alert forms part of the GNFS’s efforts to protect the public from falling victim to recruitment fraud.
Recruitments over the years into the security services in Ghana has been marred by protocols and fraud as Prospective recruits pay between Ghc10, 000 to Ghc20,000 to some individuals before they get enlisted.
However, many of the prospective recruits get scammed along the way.
