One person is feared dead whilst others have sustained machete injuries in a violent clash between youth of Okurase and land guards .
The land guards were deployed to the community by some developers to secure their disputed lands after the NDC declared winner of the Presidential election.
Communities in Upper West Akyem, Ayensuano are facing serious challenges of land grabbing as real estate developers and sand miners continue to disposes farmers from their lands using armed thugs .
They claim the lands have been sold to them by Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi. Chiefs and people in the affected communities appealed to the NDC to help curb the menace.
The NDC promised to investigate and restore all illegally acquired lands to their rightful owners .
On Wednesday, the youth of Okurase upon gathering information that land guards have been deployed to the community , laid ambush and attack them with machetes.
The clash led to multiple injuries on both sizes but three of the land guards were seriously injured.
Whilst bleeding profusely , the youth took them to the chief’s palace but the chief reportedly went into hiding. The land guards were kept at the palace for hours before being released.
