The race for the Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) appointment has officially begun, as eight candidates have filed their nominations. The governing party closed nominations today, Thursday, January 16, 2025, setting the stage for the competitive selection process.
The candidates include a mix of experienced politicians and party officials with diverse backgrounds.
Hon. Charles Darko Yeboah (Ozey) – Two-time aspiring parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa North under the NDC.
Hon. Kudjo Adukpo – Former Eastern Regional Secretary and two-term Presiding Member of East Akim Municipal Assembly.
Mr. Nimako Danquah (Akora) – Former Constituency Vice Chairman, Constituency Chairman, and District Coordinator for NADMO.
Mr. David Siaw Frimpong – Former Abuakwa North Constituency Chairman and one-time aspiring parliamentary candidate.
Lateef Adjani – Two-term Constituency Secretary for Abuakwa North.
Mr. Richard Asare Agyekum – A notable party figure with grassroots support.
Mr. John Adusei – Current Vice Chairman of the NDC in Abuakwa North Constituency.
Hon. Abdul Rahman – Two-term Assemblyman for Osiem Ahenbronom Electoral Area.
The decision on who will emerge as the next MCE rests in the hands of party stakeholders and local government authorities.
