The Marketing Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Eastern Region, Mr. Abraham Lincoln has asked all Assembly Members in the Region to submit their Telephone numbers which are connected to Social media platforms to create special complaints platform for them to report electricity issues from their electoral area.
According to him, the WhatsApp platform, when created will be managed by officials of the ECG and will feature District and Regional Key heads of departments who will be active online to receive all electoral areas complaints and find solutions to them.
Speaking at a sensitization program in Asamankese on the special COVID -19 Electricity reliefs from the government, Mr. Abraham Lincoln said Assembly Members are key players in Nation building and can make the work of the Electricity Company easy by reporting to them on consumer’s challenges frequently from the electoral area.
The marketing officer urged all Consumers and Assembly members who are not on any social media platform to release their contact numbers to officials of the ECG in all the Districts office to notify them of monthly bills and other emergency issues from the company to strengthen consumers and service provider’s relationship.
The Regional P.R.O, Mary Eshun-Oppong said they have started distributing March 2020 bills to all consumers to pay their bills which shall be the benchmark for the government relief.
She urged Consumers who have a previous balance to clear them immediately to enjoy the government relief and reiterated that consumers who were disconnected over areas are not set free in the relief.
The P.R.O urged all consumers to support the government and ECG to implement the relief and assured of quality service in this Pandemic COVID-19 period.
