Popular Ghanaian counselor Rev. Charlotte Oduro has made the audacious decision to forbid her daughters from marrying pastors.
Speaking fervently in a sermon at her church, she explained her position by pointing to her own experiences and disappointment with pastoral marriages.
“I won’t allow my daughters to marry pastors,” she said firmly. “I have been through it, and I know what it means. Let them marry from different backgrounds, but not pastors.”
According to Rev. Oduro, who just got divorced from Apostle Solomon Oduro, her opinions on pastoral marriages were influenced by her previous interactions with her ex-husband.
Additionally, she rejected the notion of lavish white church weddings for her kids, saying: “I will not do a white wedding in a church for any of my children. “I will rather gather a few family members at home and bless their marriage in a simple way.”
Concerned about the condition of the church, she bemoaned the fact that some men of God were acting in a dubious manner, compromising the holiness of the altar.
“The altar is no longer sacred,” she declared. “Many so-called men of God are doing things that defile it, and I don’t want to be part of that. If we continue like this, God’s wrath will come upon us.”
