Cameroonian President Paul Biya, 92 years is the world’s oldest head of state.
He is the longest-serving national leader and Africa’s second-longest-ruling president.
Biya has led Cameroon for 43 years.
He announced that he will be running as a candidate in the October presidential election.
If he wins, he will serve for seven years as per the constitution, which means his last year in office he will be 99 years old, and he will have ruled for 50 years.
He took over from Ahidjo in 1982.
