A senior Medical Doctor at the Asamankese Government Hospital, Dr. Albert Eshun has said the Hospital has prepared a temporal Holding room for suspected cases of COVID -19.
Dr. Albert Eshun who doubles as Coordinator for Clinical Department said the West Akyem Municipal COVID -19 team has also allocated a place to isolate about 100 cases of COVID -19 if there are more cases in the Area.
In an interview, the medical Doctor although the disease is very dangerous Ghana’s situation is better than other countries and called on Ghanaians to join the fight against the spread of the disease and save lives.
He said, “As screening continues, it is expected to record more cases, Ghana’s figures are increasing but not dangerous compared to other countries, Ghana’s approach to the disease is different.”
He was grateful for Ghana’s more proactive testing to be leading the disease instead of being reactive.
The Doctor said Cases increment does not mean new people have contracted the deadly disease but it is from the back lock of samples.
The West Akyem Municipal has so far recorded a case of the COVID -19.
Ghana has recorded an additional 121 positive coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, bringing the country’s tally to 1,671 as of April 28.
Ghana’s case management which is 553 cases was reported through general surveillance, 105 from travelers who were mandatorily quarantined and1013 from enhanced contact tracing and testing.
A total of 1,461 were responding to treatment and six patients are moderate to critically ill, 188 are awaiting the second test to be confirmed recovered and five more patients have died of coronavirus bringing the death toll to 16.
