The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has said that, the government together with some Ghanaians are over pampering the deadly disease, which has brought every business in the country to a standstill.
Mr Akpalo made this assertion during an interview with the host of ‘Efa Wo Ho’, Pokua Ahwenee on Dadi Fm on Thursday morning.
According to him, he was every excited when the president, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo lifted the ban on movements in Accra, Kumasi and its environs.
In furtherance, Mr Akpalo went on and stated emphatically that many Ghanaians have raised concerns and have questioned the government why it lifted the ban on partial lockdown while the country is still recording cases. Forgetting that, most ordinary Ghanaians do not have food to eat and must work their asses off before making ends meet.
“It was funny when people were lambasting the government for lifting the ban. One of the main reason is that the economy was crushing. A lot of people have lost their jobs due to this pandemic. Those calling for a total lockdown are people who are financially stable, and for that fact they can take care of themselves during such a period doesn’t mean we all can”. He stated.
Early this year, Mr Akpalo said he is very optimistic his party Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) will emerge as winners in the impending 2020 general elections.
