The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo has said the eighty-eight (88) district hospital including the six regional hospitals the government wants to construct across the country in order to provide proper healthcare will be insufficient for Ghanaians.
During an interview with Abena Pokua Ahwenee on Dadi FM’s “Efa Woho” morning show, Mr. Akpaloo stated that there are more than hundred thousand people in each district and one new hospital won’t be sufficient as they acquire proper medical consultation.
According to him, there are 216 districts in Ghana and each district must have at least two or five new hospitals for their benefit.
“If I were the president, I won’t build only Eighty-eight (88) hospitals because Ghanaians deserve proper healthcare infrastructures hence I will construct more than two hundred hospitals for the districts,” he averred.
He indicated that the government has the power to print new currencies, so if he were the president he would have printed an amount of GH₵ 5 billion to enable him to construct enough hospitals for the country.
Mr. Akpaloo then urged politicians to avoid abandon projects and that has been one of the reasons why the country keeps retrogressing.
