The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Andrew Augustus Nana Akwasi, has urged all assembly members and party members to prioritize the development of the Ashanti Region above all else. According to him, the region’s size and importance necessitate that it receives its fair share of national development.
Nana Akwasi made this call while touring some assemblies and municipal assemblies that were holding elections to elect their Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs) and District Chief Executives (DCEs). He emphasized that endorsing nominated MMDCEs would ensure development in the region.
In an exclusive interview with Sompa FM’s Bawah Baidoo, Nana Akwasi expressed optimism about the country’s economic prospects, citing the appreciation of the cedi as a sign that everything is going to get better. He also revealed that the confirmation of the elected MCEs and DCEs would be done at the Regional Coordinating Council once all the elections are completed.
Nana Akwasi’s call for development to be prioritized in the Ashanti Region is a timely reminder of the need for collective effort to drive progress in the region. As the NDC regional chairman, he is well-positioned to advocate for the region’s interests and work towards ensuring that development projects are implemented to benefit the people of Ashanti.
