The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for 2020 elections, Madam Felicia Tettey has declared her intentions to contest the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries, saying that the seat will fall for the NPP in 2024 with her as MP.
She said this when she was speaking to the media at an event organised by the Publicity and Media Committee of the NPP Northern Regional Youth Wing yesterday’s evening, January 29.
“Every seat is winnable and changeable. It is only the seat of God that is not changeable.Sagnarigu has gone pass an era of chieftaincy factions. An era of tribalism. And all that. It has come to an era of where the people are yearning for development”, she said.
“The people of Sagnarigu are looking for who will come for them to have access to good roads. Who will come for their children to be in good classrooms. And portable drinking water. So that is all about politics. Is about development”, the NPP former vice chair added.
The incumbent MP, Alhassan Bashiru Fuseini had 34,989 representing 57.0 % of the total votes cast, while his soul contender, Madam Felicia polled 26,434 representing 43.0 %, winning 44 ballot boxes as the first NPP PC to make such mark.
Many NPP bigwigs, including the former Northern Regional minister, Salifu Saeed have all behind Madam Felicia to be retained as NPP parliamentary candidate going into 2024 elections.
