The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene received a joint team from the World Bank and the Ministry of Works and Housing who are in the Ashanti Region to assess the drainage systems in the metropolis. The team’s mission is to evaluate the situation on the ground as part of a drainage improvement project aimed at strengthening flood prevention measures in the region.
The initiative also forms part of H.E the President’s broader smart urbanization agenda, which seeks to build resilient, safe, and well-planned communities for our people.
According to the minister, government remains committed to working with our development partners to address flooding challenges and to ensure sustainable urban development in the Ashanti Region.
