Residents of Kwapra in the Suame municipality of the Ashanti Region are applauding the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Frank Owusu Ansah, for taking steps to bring the abandoned Kwapra hospital into use.
The hospital had been left to overgrow with bushes and was inhabited by reptiles and snakes.
Kronum Kyease assembly member Hon Elvis Nyantakyi aka “Yes madam” spoke on behalf of the residents and in support of the MCE, noting that reviving the hospital will help address the shortage of healthcare facilities in the area.
The MCE has started clearing the overgrown vegetation and has promised to equip the hospital with new equipment since the previous ones were left to spoil.
This move is seen as a significant development for the community, especially considering the healthcare needs of the residents.
Hon Nyantakyi also highlighted that the MCE has done well in bringing abandoned projects into use.
