The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Secretary in Kwabre East Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Jones Sarfo Anyamesem has cautioned Members of Parliament (MPs) and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) not to put their noses in the party’s up-coming internal elections.
According to Mr. Sarfo Anyamesem, they highly respect their MPs and MMDCEs and also have good faith in them but indicated it will be wrong for any of these persons to openly support a candidate because that can affect the unity in the party.
Speaking with the media, he added that, if they all work hard and always put the party first at heart then that would rather make the party strong no matter petty issues that may come out of the elections in case there is even any.
The Secretary added that the party cannot afford to fail ‘Break the 8’ mantra in Ghana’s governance mantra if there is no peace and cohesion among members.
He, therefore, advised all aspirants to do their campaign devoid of attacks and insults and rather focus on winning the 2024 general elections.
