There is pressure mounting on the Police from above to release thugs arrested by Police.
The armed thugs were arrested while marauding through strongholds of the independent candidate Andrew Asiamah Amoakoh to disrupt the electoral process.
The thugs allegedly linked to the ruling New Patriotic Party were arrested at Adumenu, a community in the constituency. They reportedly resisted arrest and threatened the police but eventually succumbed.
Andrew Appiah Amoakoh the incumbent Member of Parliament is contesting the election as an Independent Candidate having been suspended by NPP and seat declared vacant in Parliament.
He is contesting keenly with NPP Candidate.
His campaign has come under several violent attacks.
