Today, Friday, 26th May 2023, the Contractor working on the Ejisu – Kumawu – Woraso Road Project was on-site working at the following sections of the project road.
- Laying of AC binder course at Besoro by-pass
- Pulverization and stabilization at Oyoko
- Shoulder reinstatement and road widening at km 26 – 27 (between Akotosu and Wonoo).
The Contractor commenced works on 26th April 2023 and work has been progressing steadily.
The Contractor has never stopped work since the commencement of works. Works completed to date are as follows: - roadside clearing = 70% completed
- Pulverization and stabilization = 12km
- Asphaltic concrete (AC) binder course = 10km (towns include Effiduase, Kumawu, Besoro, Bodomase, and Woraso)
- Shoulder reinstatement and road widening = 3km
The contractor Work Programme for next week includes the following: - The Contractor will continue and finish asphalt work at reclaimed sections in Oyoko, Wonoo, Akotosu and Effiduase
- Shoulder reinstatement and road widening works will continue.
The contract for the “Rehabilitation of Ejisu – Kumawu – Woraso road was awarded to Messrs Joshob Construction Company Limited on 31st January 2023 for execution and completion in eighteen (18) calendar months.
The scope of work includes: - roadside clearing
- pulverization and stabilization of existing bituminous surface and base
- earthworks (shoulder reinstatement and road widening)
- realignment
- concrete works (lined drains and culverts)
- provision of subbase and crushed rock base
- laying of asphaltic concrete binder and wearing course
- installation of road furniture
- other ancillary works.
