The Ashanti Regional minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, received a delegation from UNICEF, the Ghana Health Service, and Global Affairs Canada at the Regional Coordinating Council.
Their engagement focused on strengthening child and maternal health interventions across the Ashanti Region, a priority area that demands sustained collaboration and strategic investment.

The minister expressed the region’s appreciation for their continued support, particularly the construction of the oxygen plant at Tafo, which has significantly enhanced our emergency and critical care capacity.
They also examined additional areas for partnership, including efforts to address child labour, child abuse, and streetism, all of which require coordinated action to protect the welfare of our children.

“The Ashanti Region remains committed to building resilient systems that safeguard our young people and promote inclusive development”.
“I look forward to deepening our collaboration for the benefit of every child and family in our communities”, Dr. Amoakohene stated.
