Saturday, 3rd September 2022 marks the commissioning of the Dichemso AstroTurf in the Manhyia South constituency.
Football is a very popular game in the constituency as it is across the nation, and some of our great national footballers, including Opoku Afriyie (Bayie), Samuel Osei Kuffuor, Isaac Kwakye and Alhassan Yusif Douglas were groomed in Ashanti New Town.
The MP for the area, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s passion for football remains undimmed and unmatched, and he is a lifelong supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the Porcupine Warriors.
His decision to spearhead this project is borne out of my conviction that the youth of my constituency deserve a safe, secure and modern facility to hone their footballing skills.
“I look forward to joining them, together with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah for the commissioning” the MP and Energy minister stated.
