Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led a government delegation to join His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asanteman, in Manhyia, for a durbar of Chiefs and Queenmothers, which climaxed the 150th Anniversary commemoration of the Sagrenti War.
The Kuntunkuni Durbar, recalled the ravages of the war and its significance in the history of Asanteman.
One of the highlights of the durbar, was when officials of Fowler Museum, returned and presented to Otumfuo, artefacts belonging to Asanteman, which the British Colonial Army took away during the war.
Members of the government delegation which accompanied him included, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Energy Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Ashanti Regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah, General Secretary of NPP Lawyer Justin Kodua Frempong, Former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, some Deputy Ministers and a number of MPs.
