Works and Housing sector Minister Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah led officials of the Ministry to the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi for a working visit.
First stop was at Oyoko Akrofrom, where the Minister commissioned and handed over 26 housing units from the State Housing Company to the Ghana Immigration Service at J.A. Kufour Estates.
Then he proceeded to Bantama to inspect completed storm drains, followed by a visit to Ampabame to oversee ongoing construction works on the Bohyen phase 1 storm drain.
Later in the day, Hon Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah paid courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, who emphasized the importance of accelerating efforts to mitigate flooding and endorsed our decision to partner with the private sector to address the housing deficit.
Lastly, the Minister was at Dedesua to see the 200-acre land generously provided by Otumfou Osei Tutu II for our AffordableHousing Programme.
There, the sector Minister directed the State Housing Company to mobilize and move to site by end of May ahead of commencement of works in a Kumasi affordable housing project in collaboration with the private sector.
