The Ghana Police Service apprehended seven people disguised in brown uniforms and impersonating as security guards outside the Awoshie DVLA voting station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
According to Citi News sources, the individuals were unable to identify themselves when questioned and were transported to the Odorkor Police Station for additional investigation.
The suspects were found near the voting center’s entrance. Their inability to show legitimate identity prompted suspicions among officers tasked with ensuring security during the ongoing parliamentary election rerun.
Speaking to the media, John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region, confirmed the arrests and stated that the police believe the people are not real members of any acknowledged state security agency.
