Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC and serving as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been remanded into police custody for a second time following his arrest on Monday, September 8. The Ghana Police Service cited “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace” as the basis for his detention.
The Accra Circuit Court ruled that the extended remand would give prosecutors more time to deepen their investigations into the case. This decision has sparked strong reactions from within the NPP.
The NPP’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, speaking to Adom News after the proceedings, vowed that the party would stage continuous protests until they achieve what they call ‘true justice.’
