Professor Alex Dodoo, Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has advised Ghanaians to abstain from wearing wet masks.
According to him, the wearing of masks should not exceed more than four hours because it is going to get worse as the temperature increases.
In an interview on Accra Based-radio station, Prof Alex Dodoo lectured that the mask should be changed every four hours in order to aid in the battle of the coronavirus pandemic.
He also lauded the cloth mask guidelines published by the GSA and Food and Drugs Authority when the pandemic first hit the country.
Wearing masks in public is mandatory according to a presidential directive. Police have affected a series of arrests in relation to non-compliance. The Ghana Health Service announced yesterday that compliance in wearing of masks had remarkably increased.
