The Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly has warned residents to put an immediate stop to stealing road construction materials.
The Assembly says it may be compelled to ransack homes and construction sites to search for stolen road construction materials.
According to the Municipal Assembly, some unscrupulous persons have been stealing sand, chippings, and kicker metal molds being used by General Construction Limited, the construction firm constructing the New Tafo to Akyem Kukurantumi town roads in the Eastern region.
A statement dated July 27, 2022, issued by the Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Umar Bodinga cautioned that” those engaged in these dastardly and shameful acts are advised to put a stop to it immediately. Failure to do so shall compel management to do random checks at all various houses and private construction sites in search of culprits and those found culpable will be prosecuted”
Meanwhile, the Assembly is appealing to the public to report persons seen stealing any of the construction materials to the Police.
