The Chairperson of the Local Government and Rural Development Committee, Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr has urged the Greater Accra Mayor, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, to prioritise the removal of unauthorised billboards that obstruct drivers’ view.
She made the call when the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) appeared before the Local Government Committee public hearing to present its 2025 Annual Statement by the Audit Committee.
Hon. Sawyerr emphasised that some unauthorised signboards obstruct drivers’ visibility and urged the Assembly to pay attention to such structures and ensure that billboards are properly authorised before being erected.
The hearing also brought together representatives from the Ada West, Shai Osudoku, Ablekuma West, Weija Gbawe, La Dade Kotopon, Ada East, Ashaiman and Ga -South Assemblies.
