Winner of the 2020 Accra Open which is scheduled to take place from the 9th to 14th March 2020 at the National Tennis Centre, Accra will take home GHC4,000.
The lucrative tournament which has $5,000 to be shared by all participants was launched on Wednesday 4th March 2020 by the Secretary-General of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Madam Philipina Frimpong.
Madam Philipina Frimpong stated appreciation to the sponsors of Accra Open (Amoako Boafo, Kempinski Hotel and Palm Moments) on their quest to revive the fortunes of the tennis.
One of the sponsors Amoako Boafo said “I’m very optimistic about this ongoing initiative from Marwan Zakhem, CEO of Kempinski Hotel, Anastasia Cobbinah, CEO of Palm Moments and myself, (Amoako Boafo). Our local Ghanaian players will be among the top players in the world rankings in the future.”
“I’m assuring the media and everyone that Accra Open is here to stay and we will continue to sponsor more tournaments” Amoako Boafo stressed.
Henry Quansah, the national coach and Tournament director for Accra Open 2020, defined the upcoming the tournament as a platform to prepare Ghanaian players for the Mcdan ITF futures which is scheduled from April 20th to May 3rd, 2020
He announced that the tournament is open to players from all over the country.
Raphael Tondon, the Tournament promoter and CEO of RT Consults also said they have joined the Accra Open and know it is a good platform to project their products.
The players also expressed gratitude to Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Palm Moments and RT Consults for their sponsorship.
