On Wednesday, 10th August 2022, the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), chaired by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey once again deliberated on the issues relating to the Teshie Gbeminlaa and Homowo Festivities, following the disturbances that occurred in the performance of the rights which precedes their ban on drumming and noise making leading up to their Homowo celebration.
REGSEC was guided by a High Court ruling restraining both factions from performing the Gbeminlaa rights. This court action was taken by one of the factions, contrary to the misreporting that the Regional Minister and others were preventing them from observing their Festivities this year.
Both parties once again affirmed the security roadmap they agreed to at the REGSEC Meeting, for a peaceful celebration this year.
REGSEC once again pledged their support and the provision of adequate security for their Festivities.
All stakeholders from the related factions including the youth leaders were present.
