Adansi Asokwa Constituency Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Chairman Kwame Owusu has thrown support for Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, to be retained as the regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His decision, he said is borne out of his commitment and dedication to the ruling party’s cause in the region.
He stressed that the NPP needs a person of integrity for the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to the media, he said the election will be a landslide victory for Chairman Wontumi.
He described him as a firebrand who can best lead the ruling party in the Region to break the 8.
According to him, he has endorsed Chairman Wontumi because he is very “hardworking, respectful, affable and grassroots oriented”.
Going into the 2024 general elections, he said they won’t put the party in the hands of people who will not win power for the NPP.
He added that the 2024 election is warfare and as a matter of fact NPP needs Wontumi to match the NDC squarely in the Region.
“Chairman Wontumi knows the political dynamics of the Ashanti Region and has the track record” he stated.
He revealed that, Chairman Wontumi has received a rousing welcome in areas he has toured in his campaign so far.
