Deputy Youth Organiser of the main opposition National Democratic Congress in the Akuapem North constituency, Ahmed Agbenyadzi is questioning President Akufo-Addo the performance of Sanitation and Water Resources minister, Ceceilia Abena Dapaah to warrant her Caretaker role.
The minister has been acting as the Gender, Children and Social Protection minister since the former sector minister, Sarah Adwoa Sarfo left the post some months ago until last Friday, when she (Madam Dapaah) was mentioned to be the Caretaker minister after the President announced the revocation of the Dome-Kwabenya lawmaker from post.
Commrade Ahmed Agbenyadzi in an interview with the reporter, was surprised President Akufo-Addo could not mention someone to man the ministry the day she revoked Hon. Adwoa Sarfo from her position as the sector minister.
“Let’s ask ourselves the performance of Hon. Abena Dapaah at her ministry if she has even performed to expectation for her to add up another ministry” he rhetorically quizzed the reporter.
The NDC Communicator again asked the where about of the ‘men’ the NPP normally boast to have to run the economy as allege the Gender ministry has suffered a lot since the begining of the year till now.
He stated “I was expecting the President to have come out with someone to replace Adwoa Sarfo the day he (President) sacked the Dome-Kwabenya lawmaker. It could have even do away with the many perceptions the public have about the whole brouhaha”.
The Dome-Kwabenya MP has come under several criticisms and back clash following her failure to be in Parliament since the early hours of the year till now, despite being the minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
