Adjena Senior High Technical School region was established by the Ghana Education service in 1979 as an experimental junior secondary school on the then Adjena united middle school premises.
The school was upgraded in September, 1984 into a fully fledged secondary technical school.
However, since its establishment, the school has not received any major infrastructural facelift.
The introduction of Free Senior High School Policy which has led to exponential increase in students population has worsened the plight of the school.

Students attend toilet on deplorable open pit laterin posing risk to their health and lives.
The absent of fence wall around the school makes it vulnerable for intrusion which threatens security of students at night.
Also, some recalcitrant students take advantage to sneak out to engage in various misconducts.
Traditional rulers of Adjena -Tafoman traditional area are not happy about government neglect of the school therefore appealed to Ministry of Education to come to the aide of the school to address the numerous challenges facing it to improve on quality education.
According to the Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Thomas Ampem Nyarko, apart from facilities provided under Atta Mills/John Mahama led NDC government in the school, not a single project has been added under seven years of Akufo Addo led NPP government despite the introduction of Free Senior High School which has increased students population.
