Former Ghana international, John Paintsil is confident the Black Stars will record a win in their opening 2021 Africa Cup of Nations game against Morocco.
The four-time African champions will take on the Atlas Lions later today at the Stade Ahmadu Ahidjo stadium, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Ahead of the much-anticipated game, the former Black Stars defender says Ghana will overcome their Moroccan counterparts.
“We’ve played with Morocco several times; we are unable to score them with a high number of goals. They are always threatening us and so, playing our first game with them, I think they have studied us a bit and know they are not going to get it easy”
“Ghana will definitely beat Morocco but it is not going to be easy. We just have to stick to our plan and go in with a winning mentality. I can’t say much about goals but Ghana is winning” he told Angel FM in Kumasi.
The former Fulham marksman then described the 2021 AFCON as a tournament that has not been sloppy in the history of the continental showpiece.
“Looking at the games played so far, I think the heat is on. AFCON 2021 is the high tempo tournament I have ever seen. This is the first time the start of AFCON has not been sloppy” he said.
