Former Ghana defender Tony Baffoe is defiant about the Black Stars chances despite defeat to Morocco in their opening 2021 Africa Cup of Nations game.
The four-time African Champions lost their game on Monday after a disappointing performance resulted in a 1-0 defeat against favourites Morocco.
Sofiane Boufal scored the game’s only goal in the 83rd minute as Morocco claim another win over the Black Stars.
Speaking to the media, the former Deputy Secretary-General of CAF called on Ghanaians to support the team as he believes they stand a chance of progressing from the group.
“I think tactically they did well and it was a very tight game. To be honest, I was really going for a 0-0 draw and then we conceded a goal”
“From now on, what is very important is to be tactically orientated, pay attention to details and to win our next two games against Gabon and Comoros”
“It’s very important to win those games. I have watched the teams training and the intensity was good so let’s keep the hope alive and all is not over, we still have two matches where we can get our six points and qualify” he said.
Ghana will take on Gabon in their second Group C game at the AFCON on Friday.
