Comoros Football Federation President, Said Ali Athouman, has revealed his side fielded Covid-19 infected players against Ghana at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Black Stars recorded their worse AFCON performance after failing to win a single game at the tournament.
Ghana were paired against Comoros, Gabon and Morocco at the continental showpiece.
Comoros, who were debutants defeated Ghana in their final group game to secure qualification to the knockout phase at the expense of the Black Stars.
However, according to the FA boss, they fielded players who had Covid-19 at the time to beat Ghana.
“Against Ghana – I can say it now since time has passed – we had first-team players who tested positive and we managed to have them on the pitch playing” Athouman said at his wedding.
