Former Ghana international Yaw Preko is backing the Black Stars to end the Africa Cup of Nations trophy drought in the upcoming tournament in Ivory Coast.
The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 will commence in January 13, to February 11, 2024, in the West African country.
Ghana has failed to clinch the AFCON title since 1982 and Yaw Preko in an interview has thrown his weight behind the team to break the jinx.
“We are happy Ghana qualified for the AFCON. We hope we break the Afcon drought next year. It’s something which is very paramount to us and we pray we finally break that jinx”
“We should bear in mind that we aren’t the only country preparing for the tournament, all the countries who qualified are also preparing, so we need to prepare adequately for the tournament and importantly get some luck behind us and who knows, we can win it”
