The Member of Parliament for Effutu, Hon. Alexander Afenyo- Markin, has handed over an ultramodern public toilet facility to the Osakam community in Winneba in fulfillment of his promise of infrastructural development agenda for the Effutu constituency.
Osakam is an indigenous fishing community in Winneba, about 200metres from the shore. It was one of the first settlement communities for the real natives of Effutu in times past. As an Urban-rural community in dire need of infrastructural projects, Hon. Afenyo- Markin has pledged to facilitate the construction of these projects as part of the ‘Effutu Dream’.
He, on 5th May 2020, handed over the ultramodern public toilet to Osakam. It is a 20-seater water closet toilet facility that was constructed in two months to replace the old toilet that had become a death trap to the community.
At the commissioning event, the MP indicated that the toilet facility was part of the many projects he has earmarked for Osakam and other communities in the Effutu constituency. He asked them to take good care of the facility and make it open for use to everybody in Osakam. The people on their part could not hide their joy and appreciation to the MP for his benevolence and fulfillment of promises.
Hon Alexander Afenyo-Markin further entreated his constituents to keep their guards on the Covid-19 by wearing nose masks, washing of their hands, and using hand sanitizers in the national fight against the pandemic.
