Together with Nana Ahea Tutu Brempong II, Kwahu Aduamoahene, and Benkumhene of Kwahu Traditional Council, Hon. Rev. Ntim Fordjour MP and Deputy Minister for Education, KOICA Country Director and World Vision Ghana National Director joined the World Vision Ghana on their End Line Evaluation results of the Unlock Literacy Project.
The project funded by KOICA and World Vision Korea was initiated in Afram Plains North and South districts in 2019, has so far benefited 9,075 including 540 teachers.
Member of Parliament for the area, Betty Krosbi Mensah, used the opportunity to stress the major challenges the people face with education which include inadequate educational infrastructure and understaffed teachers in the Afram Plains District.
She stressed that out of 573 communities in Afram Plains North, less done 100 communities with school and out of the 100, the district is faced with a teacher deficit of 513 and that hinders the progress of early grades to be able to unlock their literacy.
The MP assured the constituents that a lot is been done to address the issues and will also call on NGOs to also come to our aid to help bridge these gaps.
Madam Betty Krosbi Mensah appreciated and acknowledged World Vision Ghana and KOICA for thinking about Afram Plains.
