Former New Juaben South MP Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah has urged the Mahama administration to finish the Agenda 111 hospital project, which was started by the Akufo-Addo administration, calling it an important infrastructure investment that shouldn’t be dropped.
Dr. Assibey-Yeboah stated that consistent infrastructure spending is crucial for both job creation and national growth in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, January 13.
“Roll out the infrastructure spending that you are doing. Don’t abandon the Agenda 111 like we always do,” he said.
He emphasized that the Agenda 111 hospitals should be seen as essential investments in the health sector rather than as a financial burden.
“Budgets are being started, 111 hospitals, you say I’m not going to do anything to it. They are not a drain. They are doing infrastructure spending. They are building hospitals, okay?” he stated.
In order to make the projects more manageable, Dr. Assibey-Yeboah suggested a phased approach.
“So stagger them. You have to say you will do 25 this year, something like that,” he suggested.
