Ex-Black Stars player Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has lavished praises on the former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Kofi Abanga, describing him as a proper midfielder whose qualities were rare to find.
Badu, a member of the U-20 team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2009 believes Abanga was one of the best midfielders he’s faced in his career despite the inability of the former Anokye Stars starlet to rise.
In an interview, he said, “Hard to beat and when he has the ball, it’s hard to win possession him,” he said.
“We played against Hearts of Oak and that is where I saw Kofi Abanga was a proper midfielder.
“He will not allow you to play and when he gets the ball, it is difficult getting it from him,” he said.
“It’s always difficult playing against such midfielders,” he added.
Kofi Abanga played for Aduana Stars before moving to Hearts of Oak where his career hit a crescendo but injuries forced him to call it a quit with his playing trade.
