Education minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum embarked on a Regional tour to the Ahafo region on 13th March 2023, accompanied by Directors of some Agencies of the Education Ministry such as NASIA, NaCCA, NTC, and CENDLOS, among others.
He paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the Goaso Traditional Area and the Omanhene of Akrodie at their respective palaces.
Embarking on an educational tour also, the minister visited Acherensua Senior High School, Kukuom Agric Senior high School, Akrodie Technical Institute, Ahafoman Senior High Technical School, Fawohoyeden Youth Leadership and Training Institute, and Serwaa Kesse Senior High School all situated in the Ahafo Region.
Using his life as an example of someone who did not allow obstacles to deter my success, Dr. Adutwum encouraged students not to also allow their backgrounds to become a hindrance to their beautiful tomorrow.
He further urged them to improve their reading habits by visiting the library often and taking advantage of every opportunity presented to them to excel.
He also inspected the ongoing construction of Akrodie STEM Senior High School.
The project which is one of the many STEM Model schools the government is building is almost done and will be in use very soon. The school will have an administrative block, a V block which has 24 classrooms, Assembly hall, a Dining hall with kitchen, Principal’s residence, Vice Principal’s residence, and a Staff flat.
“I am grateful to the Ahafo Regional Police Commander, Ahafo Regional Minister, and various Education Directors in the Ahafo Region, Heads and Principals of schools for their warm reception” he stated.
