The Omanhene of Goaso Traditional Area, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I has promised to enact a by-law that will ensure every household in Goaso gets a fire extinguisher to curb fire outbreaks in the area.
He said the increasing rate of fire outbreaks in the region needs to be brought to its minimum level hence, the need for all households to have fire extinguishers.
Aside from homes, the traditional leader also urged all public places to also have access to fire extinguishers to help fight minor fire outbreaks before fire personnel arrive at scenes.
Speaking to the media in the Ahafo region as part of International Firefighters day which was marked at Goaso, Nana Bosompra I also expressed worry over why fire service personnel are not allowed to stay on the roadside to check drivers as police officers do.
Meanwhile, the Ahafo Regional Fire Officer Acfo2 Joseph Koranteng also appealed to the citizenry to protect themselves and their properties by buying fire extinguishers since the whole of Goaso does not have a single functioning Fire Tender in case there is a fire outbreak in the area.
