One person has been confirmed dead and four others in critical condition after police officers reportedly stationed at Newmont Mining Limited clashed with some youth at Kenyasi No.2 in the Ahafo Region.
Sources revealed the personnel from the Formed Police Unit and Counter-Terrorism Unit stationed with the Newmont company had an altercation with a motor rider gunning one person down in the ensuing struggle.
His death sparked a revolt by the youth leading to four more people being shot by the personnel.
The youth have besieged a bridge between Kenyase No.2 – Ntotroso road in protest when the ugly incident occurred.
