The Ahafo Regional Minister, George Boakye has imposed curfew on Bomaa in the Tano North Municipality with immediate effect.
This came as a result of the Ahafo Regional Minister in collaboration with the members of the Regional Security Council and in consultation with the Interior Minister and the National Security minister.
The decision of the Ahafo REGSEC has been necessitated following violent clashes that claimed one life and caused injuries to five others on Sunday night.
The curfew shall be in force from 5pm to 7am everyday pending periodic assessments and reviews.
Hon. George Boakye and the top security officials in the region as well as Hon. Ernest Kwarteng (MCE, Tano North) and Hon. Yaw Osei Boahen (MCE, Asunafo North) have since visited the community to assess the situation at hand.
The minister and his entourage also visited the family of the deceased to commiserate with them on their loss as he charged the police to continue full investigations till justice is served.
