Communicators of the New Patriotic Party, NPP have been tasked to show dynamism in telling people the good works of thebcurrent Akufo-Addo led administration and the party at large.
They have, been also charged be abreast with issues and conduct researches to improve their knowledge in the party’s achievements as well as their communication skills.
Lawyer Adomako Baafi, former Communications Director the NPP told party communicators in the Effutu constituency of the Central at a day workshop at Winneba.
He indicated that the primary objective of a communicator is to account positively to the public on the party’s/government’s programmes and achievements as most Ghanaians are ignorant of many important interventions that have been enforced to deal with pressing issues that used to exist under the previous Mahama-NDC era.
“As a communicator, you need to know more about what government is doing in order to let Ghanaians know and appreciate government with their votes. For instance, President Akufo-Addo has employed many nurses and teachers who were left to their fate during the Mahama-NDC government but unfortunately communicators have failed to hammer on it” Lawyer Adomako Baafi said.
He challenged communicators to desist from engaging in unnecessary propaganda agenda of the opposition but rather counter them with facts and figures to convince listeners or audience.
Meanwhile, the Effutu Constituency Head of Communications, Ellis Otabil explained the rationale behind the workshop and was optimistic would go a long way to enrich the knowledge and expertise of party communicators to face the opposition at all times.
He, was, grateful to the Regional and Constituency leadership for their support as well as the Member of Parliament and Deputy minister, Alexander Afernyo-Markin.
“This training will offer our party communicators enough knowledge as far as political communication is concerned to help them perform well in defending the party and also propagating Government’s agenda and achievements” he stressed.
The Presiding Member for the Effutu Municipal Assembly, Elizabeth Awo Sennah on her part urged the leadership of the party to pay attention to the welfare of communicators and support them with the needed logistics.
She advised communicators to remain in unity and desist from back biting attitude as such actions have effect on the unity the party seeks to have.
