Richard Botchwey, the National Organiser of GFP in an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney on Wednesday indicated the party has decided to withdraw from the race as they are still mourning the founder Madam Akua Donkor.
He stressed that executives of the party were in a meeting when Roman Fada went to the Electoral Commission to file his nomination to contest the presidential elections.
Mr. Botchwey, however, urged Ghanaians to see the filing of Roman Fada as illegal and that the party has officially written to the EC to announce the decision to withdraw from the race.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the party George Afful rubbished the assertion of the National Organiser, indicating he (Richard Botchwey) is not even recognised in the party.
He added the current executives of the party are in full support of Roman Fada to lead the party in the December 7 elections and that the party had not withdrawn from the race as earlier communicated.
